Lacey’s Blog: Family Matters

One thing Cypress HomeCare Solutions has taught me in my last two months as a therapy dog is the importance of family. From the moment I walked in the door on my first day, I have always felt like I am working with family — not the canine variety of course, but just as loving and fun! And I know that this feeling is not just meant for me, but for everyone who works with or is cared for by Cypress. My Cypress Family is the reason I am able to do what I love best, which is bring care, comfort and joy to people who need it most. I even get a few ear scratches and belly rubs along the way, and I’m fur sure not complaining!

I was thinking about my Cypress Family and how I wish I could find out more about my dog family when I happened to get a special paper in the mail, my Certificate of Pedigree from the American Kennel Club. In other words, this is my Doggie Family Tree! I was so excited to see all the names of my tail-wagging ancestors, and boy oh boy, some of them were doggone different.

After looking over my family history, here are my dog-servations:

  • I have a great grandpa and great grandma who were bunnies (not sure how this is pawssible)
  • Even though I have a shiny yellow coat, I have a couple relatives who were black labs
  • There are no cats stuck in my tree, probably thanks to my great grandpa Hawkeye’s Viking

I hope you enjoy looking at my family tree as much as I do! Now I can say that not only am I member of my Cypress Family, but I am part of quite a respectable pack of pooches.
