Voting Options for Seniors

Written by: Cypress HomeCare Solutions

Election Day is right around the corner (November 6), and with Arizona voter registration due in just one week (October 9), we at Cypress HomeCare Solutions wanted to give you a few tips on how you can help your aging loved one register and vote.

The first step is to register! You and your older loved one can register online with EZ Voter Registration or you can print and mail or deliver in person your registration form to your County Recorder’s office, which can be found here.

For some seniors, getting to the polling station to vote on Election Day can be a difficult task. One way you can help your older loved one exercise their right to vote without leaving the comfort of home is encouraging them to fill out an absentee, or early voting, ballot. After you register, you can visit your County Recorder’s website and request an Early Voting Ballot. For Maricopa County, you can go here.

Finally, VOTE. As Americans, we are offered the right to participate in our representation in government, and voting shows our commitment to this country. Let’s all exercise our right and vote this November 6!

Important deadlines:

  • Voter Registration Form — received by October 9, 2012
  • Absentee Ballot Application — received by 5 p.m. October 26, 2012
  • Voted Absentee Ballot — received by Election Day, November 6, 2012

We’re here to help.
