National Nurses Week is recognized from May 6 — 12 each year. The American Nurses Association designates this week to honor, acknowledge and celebrate the positive difference nurses make in our country and around the world. While we do not employ nurses because we are a non-medical home care agency,we work day in and day out with nurses in a “care team” approach to keep our clients safe and well cared for. Many of the nurses we work with work for home health care companies, hospice companies and some are even care managers. We consider it an honor to be working with such wonderful clinicians and want to take this moment to pause and recognize the hard work nurses do in providing compassionate care. Thank you!
May is Older Americans Month, and with this year’s theme “Never Too Old to Play,” we want to give you a few ideas on how you can celebrate our elders and encourage them to stay engaged, active and involved in their own lives and communities.
Plan a “Day of Play” with a scavenger hunt or trivia game, take a walk with your aging loved one and listen to their stories, or even play a few games of Wii bowling with a senior in your life. There are so many ways to connect with our older generation – just get creative!

Cypress HomeCare Solutions is celebrating a major milestone – we are turning 18 years old! On April 28, 1994, Cypress was “born” from the Roth Family in honor of their wife and mother, Joan S. Roth. In our 18 years, Cypress has undergone many changes and successes, and continues to be a leader in the home care industry.
