Where Lifestyle Meets Longevity
At Cypress HomeCare Solutions, we believe the future of aging is vibrant, active, and full of joy and Cole Marvin is living proof. For nearly two decades, he’s led Friendship Village with innovation, inclusion, and just the right amount of sass.
From pickleball courts and bocce tournaments to a rooftop restaurant and brewery called Starfire, Cole and his team have turned senior living into a multigenerational experience where residents stay connected, active, and proud to call it home.
Pouring Purpose Into Every Pint
What happens when you combine a nano-brewery with a mission? You get Forget Me Not, a triple berry birthday cake sour beer brewed right on-site and crafted as a fundraiser for Alzheimer’s awareness.
“It’s wild,” Cole laughed as Bob took his first sip. “But it’s working. We’re raising $50,000 a year, and every four-pack sold means $4 goes toward the cause.”
The brewery is helmed by full-time brewmaster Tyler Lynch, and yes, the public is welcome to stop in, grab a bite, and pick up a pack of beer with a purpose.
A Legacy of Love
Cole also opened up about his personal journey as a caregiver when his father faced a life-threatening lung condition that ultimately required a double lung transplant. From harrowing ER visits to moments of deep connection, Cole shared how his professional experience shaped and was reshaped by his family’s medical journey.
“You never really know until it’s you,” he said. “But what I can say is, the staff at St. Joe’s, they were angels. And our community here at the Village residents, team members they carried me through it.”
Aging Boldly and Building Forward
As the demographics shift and baby boomers flood into retirement communities, Cole sees a future built not just on care but on fun.
“We’re adding duckpin bowling lanes next,” he said. “It’s about making this a place where your grandkids want to visit, your adult kids want to move in and maybe one day, their kids too.”
With 52 second-generation residents already at Friendship Village, that future may not be far off.
